I have not received the SMS code - what to do?
We provide temporary numbers to receive SMS for a short period of time.
Please note that we are not affiliated with any third-party services or apps, so we are unable to assist with their specific issues.
If you are not receiving your SMS code, in most cases the issue is not with the number itself, but with the service you are signing up for. Below we explain why this happens and how to fix it.
Why might the SMS code not arrive?
When you register on a website or app, the verification code is sent by that platform - not by Temp Number. We simply provide the phone number to receive it.
The service you're signing up for may not send the code for several reasons:
- Your IP address has been flagged or temporarily blocked. This can happen if you've attempted to register multiple times before, or if your IP address has been used by others in the past.
- You are using a number from a different country than your IP address. Many services detect this and refuse to send the code.
- A technical issue on the service's side. Delays or delivery failures sometimes originate with the service itself.
One important thing to know: you will not be charged if no SMS code is received.
What you can do
Occasionally, a specific number may not work with a particular service. Select a new number and request the code again. In most cases, trying 2-3 different numbers is enough to find one that works.
If the service supports phone numbers from multiple countries, try switching to a different country than the one you used initially. Numbers from certain regions may work better with some platforms.
Many services check if your IP address and phone number are from the same country. If they don't match, the code may not be sent.
Services often flag VPN addresses because they are shared among many users and are frequently associated with suspicious activity. A personal IP address is unique to you, which makes your registration appear more trustworthy.
If you've visited the site before with the same browser, stored data may interfere with a fresh registration attempt. Clearing your cookies gives you a clean start.
Services monitor for unusual activity and may decline to send a verification code if something appears out of the ordinary. Make sure you're using the service in accordance with its terms of use.
